Q53. What did God the Father undertake in the covenant of grace?
A53. God the Father undertook to justify and sanctify those for whom Christ should die.

Q54. What is justification?
A54. Justification is God forgiving sinners, and declaring them as righteous.

Q55. What is sanctification?
A55. Sanctification is God making sinners holy in heart and conduct.

Memory verse. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
