What Does it Mean? (Acts 2:1-13)

 

Pentecost: ‘The time when the sickle was to be put to the harvest and the fruits to be gathered.’ – John Chrysostom. ‘Fifty days are reckoned from the celebration of the Passover… to the day on which Moses received the law on tablets written by the finger of God.’ – Augustine

  1. The Holy Spirit personally indwells every believer (1-4)
  2. The Holy Spirit’s indwelling is shown through the life of God’s people (5-11)
  3. It is the Holy Spirit who effects lasting change in us and others (12-13)
