Obadiah – Feared the Lord greatly, protects the persecuted prophets

  1. Obadiah – the Flawed, Yet Faithful Prophet of God.
    • FB Meyer says that Obadiah was a man of weak faith, not to be imitated. The former statement may be true, but not the latter.
    • Instruction for those whose calling is secular work Col.3:22-24.
    • Obadiah’s courage.
  2. God Works Both Supernaturally and Ordinarily.
    • The prophets who were hidden-away in a dirty cave, eating nothing but the bread and water which Obadiah brought them would have just as much cause to thank God as Elijah did when he saw the raven come to bring him his morsel of meat in the day.
  3. The World Lashes-out at Christians When Under Judgment.
    • “The troublemaker of Israel” was not Elijah.
    • God brings His judgment to make us listen.
    • Under God’s wrath, the world attacks God’s people.
