THE ONE-MAN ARMY (Judges 15)
– after the explosion in 14:19-20, Samson wants to take up with his wife again.
1. The sin of a spirit of vengeance.
– 15:3, 4-6, 7, 11, 8, 14-17
– he seems a long way from 2 Tim. 1:7
2. The sin of capitulating to the world.
– 15:8-13; the men of Judah do not want trouble!
– like 2 Tim.4:16-17; Ahab sees Elijah as his enemy and a trouble-maker (1 Kings 21:20)
– how Judah has fallen! (see Judges 1:2-3)
– James 4:4; if we are dispirited, pray Ps.119:25
3. God overrules in human sin.
– 15:14, 18-20
– God saves His people in spite of themselves.
