THE PASSOVER (Lev.23:4-5)
Exodus 12:1-20, 21-51
– Lev.23 lists the weekly Sabbath plus seven annual feasts. We are looking to see Christ in them (Col.2:16-17). Exodus 12 gives us the detail about the Passover
1. God’s people were slaves.
– Ex.12:40; 1:8-17
– John 8:34, 36
– 1 Peter 1:18-19
2. God’s people were saved by the blood of the lamb.
– note 1 Cor.5:7
(a) The lamb was to be without blemish (Ex.12:5, 46), as Christ is sinless
(b) The lamb was roasted (Ex.12:8); by His wounds we are healed (Isa.53:5)
(c) The blood of the lamb saved Israel (Ex.12:7-10, 13, 22-23); Eph.2:13; Col. 1:20; Rev.5:6
3. God’s people were delivered.
