1. Faith gives glory to God.
– 4:20; Calvin: ‘no greater honour can be given to God than by sealing His truth by our faith.’

– but this is how to be declared righteous
3. Faith trusts in the resurrection of the Lord Jesus.
– 4:24b-25; justification is past tense in Rom.5:1, 9
– for resurrection, see Heb.11:17-19
O let the dead now hear Thy voice!
Now bid Thy banished ones rejoice!
Their beauty this, their glorious dress,
Jesus, the Lord our Righteousness.
