SERMON  NOTES
THE  CYCLE  DOWNWARDS
(Judges   2:10-3:6)

1.  Rebellion.

– 2:10-13;  the  World  Parliament  of  Religions  will  meet  in  Melbourne  in  December,  and  Acts 4:12  will  not  be  taught;  see  Deut.7:1-6;  Ps.106:34-40

2.  Repression.

– 2:14-15;  see  Lev.26:7-8  and  Lev.26:17;  God  is  a  jealous  God  (Ex.34:14)

3.  Remorse.

– not  really  here;  found  in  3:9  but  in  15:11  people  feared  the  judge;  note  some  sort  of  remorse  in  Ahab  in  1 Kings 21:23-29

4.  Rescue.

– 2:16, 18;  God  looks  with  compassion  on  His  people  (see  Ex.2:24-25)

5.  Rest.

– not  explicitly  here  but  found  in  3:30.  These  rests  are  partial  (Heb.4:8-11)

6.  More  rebellion,  repression,  and  rebellion.

– 2:20-3:6;  Israel  fails  the  test;  need  for  2 Cor.5:17
