1. The  Servant’s  call  to  all  the  world.

– v.1;  His  weapon  will  be  His  word  (v.2:  Rev.1:16;  Heb.4:12)

– to  Israel  and  the  world  (49:6;  Acts 13:46-48);  a  kind  of  second  exodus  in  49:9b-12

2. The  Servant’s  apparent  failure.

– 49:4  is  a  jarring  note

3.  The  Servant’s  certain  victory.

– Richard  Sibbes:  ‘Nothing  is  stronger  than  humility,  which  goes  out  of  itself,  or  weaker  than  pride,  which  rests  on  its  own  foundation.’
